SPF Products for the Beach

Over the years, I’ve asked several dermatologists dozens of questions about anti-aging products. Without fail, they all say that sunscreen is the best anti-aging product you can use. I used to get frustrated by that answer, but now it kind of excites me. You’re telling me that I can apply something every day that is both easy and affordable to implement into my routine and it’ll slow down the aging process on my skin? Count me in!

Below you’ll find several SPF products that I use daily, and at the beach. Not every item will be right for your skin type, but most are pretty universal and are made with the highest quality.

Don’t forget to lather up today!

EltaMD UV Physical Broad-Spectrum Tinted Facial Sunscreen, SPF 41, 3 Oz

This product has little coverage but it’s a great way to get a small tint of color with a heaping level of SPF. The entire EltaMD line has so many quality SPF products that it’s hard to decide what works best for your skin! Read more about their skincare line here.

Sweat Cosmetics Translucent Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 30

I’m not sure you can find a more innovative product that translucent SPF! I had the privilege of meeting the founders of Sweat Cosmetics a few years ago and let me tell you, those ladies know their stuff. They create sweat proof and wearable makeup that is loaded with SPF. I have tried several of their mineral foundations, bronzers and blushes, but this product takes the cake. If you’re already pleased with your makeup routine, the least you can do is top it with some translucent SPF. It’s hard enough to find quality makeup with the proper sun protection, and if you’re not willing to give up your Dior airbrush foundation (seriously, I probably cannot) then this the perfect product to add into your routine!

La Roche-Posay – Anthelios Clear Skin Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 60

Did anyone else’s parents slather them with No-Ad sunscreen as a child? With all due respect to the brand, the formula was thick, pure white and seemed to never properly rub into my skin. This dry touch sunscreen is the antithesis of that! It has a matte, shine-free finish, and is oxybenzone-free.

Coola – Organic Liplux Sunscreen Lip Balm, Lip Care for Daily Protection, Broad Spectrum SPF 30, Reef Safe

Protecting your lips is just as important as protecting any other part of your skin. My lips get dry and sunburned very quickly, so I love any sort of balm that contains SPF. This one, in particular, is a peppermint and vanilla scent and has SPF 30! It’s well worth the price and lasts quite a while.

Tula – Protect + Glow Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – Use Code: THECLOSETDIME at checkout.

This is my most used suncreen to-date. Although it’s not waterproof, it’s great for every day application and pairs very well under makeup. I use it under my favorite foundation and it gives me the most glowing and healthy looking skin.

Use code: THECLOSETDIME for 15% off at checkout!

Coppertone – ULTRA GUARD Sunscreen Continuous Spray SPF 50 (1.6 Ounce)

The hardest part about a quick beach weekend is finding a good SPF in a travel size container. These mini cans from Coppertone are perfect for when I know I’ll need good sunscreen, but need to stay under 3 oz.

I know wearing sunscreen can be a pain, but it’s the easiest and cheapest way to keep your healthy skin looking young. Try a few of these products and let me know what you think!
