November Empties

I can’t believe we’re almost a year into this series! Read below for a hot debate on Vitamin C serums this month and let me know if you have a fan favorite from these November Empties.

Clarins – Plant Gold Nutri-Revitalizing Oil-Emulsion

Plant Gold -L ´or Des Plantes | Skincity.com

This product is incredible. I first tried it for a project a few years ago, and it’s still just as good as the first time I tried it. For those gals with extremely dry skin, you probably already use some sort of cleansing oil and intense moisturizer so as to protect your skin. This product is not only extremely hydrating, but it also has the oil component already built in! The bottle has a two-in-one oil-emulsion in a dual-chamber bottle so you get a portion of oil and moisturizer all in one pump!

I am currently testing out another facial oil at the moment (you’ll most likely see it in my December Empties) but I would recommend this to anyone who is even remotely curious about face oils!

Essence – Long-Lasting Eye Pencil

Amazon.com : essence | Long-Lasting Eye Pencil | 5 Pack - Brown : Eye Liners : Beauty & Personal Care

The older I’ve gotten, the less I wear eyeliner. I stopped wearing black eyeliner several years ago, but I still like a small swipe of brown liner on the top of my eyelids to help create a “map” when applying my false eyelashes. The brown eyeliner is more subtle, and gives the appearance of a naturally thick lash line, rather than looking like a lot of eyeliner. I haven’t tried many new liners, but if you’re needing something subtle and long lasting, you can’t go wrong with this one! It’s less than $3 and is a beautiful share of dark brown.

DIME Beauty – Hyper Glow Serum

Product info for Hyper Glow Serum by Dime Beauty | SKINSKOOL

I’m already on my second bottle of this serum! It’s a natural approach at a Vitamin C serum and a bit thinner than most serums you’re probably used to. The formula also uses Ferulic Acid and Vitamin E to help fight free radicals and other pollutants and toxins. I alternate between this Vitamin C serum and the one below. My suggestion is to read both descriptions and see which one would work better for your skincare routine. You certainly don’t need two Vit. C serums, just pick the one you’ll love and stick to a routine. P.S. Use code: RACHELS20 at checkout for all DIME Beauty products.

Mario Badescu – Vitamin C Serum

Mario Badescu - Vitamin C Serum 1 oz/ 29 mL

This was my 3rd or 4th bottle of this serum. It’s by far the Vit. C serum that I’ve used the longest, but it is for a specific kind of shopper. This serum is slightly thicker than the one above, and it gives a much more natural glow, which is lovely, but only if you don’t have very oily skin already. This product also contains collagen which helps to give you a smooth, supple complexion. The one big difference I’m noticing between the two serums is that DIME says you can use in the morning, and Mario Badescu recommends using this product at night. I have used this serum in my morning routine for years, so you probably need to put a SPF over it for the daytime.
