Tie Front Pullover Sweater: Universal Thread via Target – size XS
I haven’t been this excited for a sweater all Winter and I decide to find it right when Spring hits? Typical. The one thing I wasn’t expecting to find is a denim-centered line creating a sweater that I absolutely love, showing that their brand can do more than denim.
Target just launched Universal Thread, a brand new line and that’s been killing it in the style department! Not only are the clothes completely gorgeous, but they’re also completely wearable. The brand is focusing solely on the customers needs, and making a big impact on those of us who can’t seem to find that perfect fit.
The UT team took serious time picking out fabrics that stretch to fit multiple body types and is working on new technology like stain-repellent white denim. You can’t tell me that’s not cool!
More Than Denim
While the brand’s clear focus is denim, they are no slouch in the design department when it comes to blouses and sweaters. They’ve created tops with no tags (pesky little things) and have made sizing for realistic body types (some of us have the build of a teenage boy).
The grey sweater I’m wearing above also comes in purple, and is incredibly comfortable. It’s light-weight enough to wear in early Spring and doesn’t have an itchy feeling on my skin.
Something else UT is working on? SIZING! Since no body type is the same, the brand is working to make clothes focusing on size diversity. Already carrying size 00-26W in pants, they’re looking to expand their sizing in tops as well. This particular pullover sweater is meant to be a little shorter in the torso. Not quite a crop (unless you have an extremely long torso like myself) but it’s still shorter than most. I’d recommend sizing down if you want more of a crop look.
I’m so excited for brands like this to be hitting the stage! Send me other new brands to gawk over and I’ll take a look.
