New Year’s Resolutions

Well, it’s been almost two weeks since my last blog post. I guess that means I can’t make blogging my new year’s resolution!

I’m not big on resolutions. I may set a goal or two, but rather than be disappointed that I can’t stick to something, I choose not to shoot for anything at all. Pathetic, right? I try to be realistic and not promise myself too much. Lose an insane amount of weight, read a book every week, learn a new language. These are things that won’t happen with my busy schedule, and I’ve decided that’s okay.

This year, instead of over or under-shooting my goals, I’ve decided to be somewhere in the middle with my new year’s resolutions.

  1. Spend more time with family: I actually knocked this one out of the park last year, and I saw at least one my siblings every weekend for the last several months of 2016. They are the light of my life and if I’m going to devote time and effort into relationships, they’re definitely going to be with the people who have loved me since day one.
  2. Eat more fruit: I’m weird for some reason and prefer vegetables to fruit. I’m not sure why, but I’d rather have a bunch of zucchini instead of an apple or orange. It’s not a big goal, but again, I don’t set many resolutions!
  3. Grow my business: This one is a bit more selfish. 2016 was a big year for several reasons, one reason being that I opened my first Etsy shop. It was such an adventure and I have loved learning about business and creativity over the past 12 months. Even though I often feel like I’m flying blind, the shop has been such a blessing and I would love to see it become an even greater part of my life.
