Midwest Weather

It’s tough to dress for those “in-between” Midwest temperatures where it’s cool in the morning, but warm in the afternoon. My compromise has always been light-weight clothing that covers my body. That way, if I’m cold, I’m covered, and if I’m warm, the fabric breathes easily and I don’t get over heated.

I realize I didn’t come up with this concept, but I take full credit for the cute outfit! I used to be more hesitant to mix and match color patterns and colors, but I’ve started to branch out more. The use of tans and oranges added to the denim-on-denim look without making it look too put together (even though I look like a walking color swatch). Recently, the trend has been to pair several layers of different but similar items together.

I started with jeans and the top, and worked from there. There was a lot of blue coloring going on so I added orange and tan colors as accessories to complete the look. I don’t know that I do this as well as some bloggers and stylists (I like to keep it simple) but I definitely understand the concept!
